System-level design suite
Next-generation ultra-Wideband (UWB) applications operating in challenging deployment conditions require high–performance UWB antenna systems with minimized pulse distortion and limited ranging bias. Therefore, fast and accurate simulations of frequency-domain parameters and system-level antenna metrics are required.
We have designed a state-of-the-art system-level design suite
to efficiently and simultaneously optimize the antenna for time domain and system-level antenna metrics, such as the angle-dependent system fidelity factor (SFF) and the distance estimation error (DEE), while including integration platform effects.
This enables us to analyze the orientation-specific pulse distortion and phase-center variation, with the antenna integrated into the actual deployment platform.
Benchmarking
The system-level design suite
is several orders of magnitude faster than what is currently achievable with conventional solvers and facilitates the development of
high–performance UWB systems that satisfy the needs of these demanding next-generation UWB applications.
The table below provides a summary of the CPU times required to simulate the orientation-specific frequency and time-domain system-level metrics for an example antenna link of one hemispherical anchor antenna and one omnidirectional tag antenna, in free space and with an actual deployment platform at the tag side.
Our system-level design suite
shows great benefit when more than one single direction needs to be simulated.

Application
We can provide two types of applications:
-
Matlab App: A Matlab App, which can be installed inside your matlab environment, but requires a licensed copy of MATLAB.
-
Desktop App: A standalone Desktop App (.exe), requires only a MATLAB Runtime installation to run the application and no licensed copy of MATLAB.
