Air-filled-based
Antenna system technology

The heart of next-gen UWB systems.

The innovation in our solutions lies in our in-house developed system-level design suite to guarantee high pulse fidelity over a wide field-of-view and in the patented air-filled substrate-integrated-waveguide (AFSIW) technology, offering unique features such as extremely low losses and multi-channel support in the most compact footprint. This results in unique advantages compared to conventional UWB antenna solutions.

Since its inception, the air-filled substrate-integrated-waveguide (AFSIW) technology has revolutionized high-performance microwave and mmWave solutions. Near-100-% radiation efficiency and extremely low transmission losses are achieved by utilizing air as the dielectric medium, while compatibility with well-established production processes ensures mass-manufacturability. Offering the performance of metallic waveguide systems at a fraction of the cost and weight, AFSIW technology brings high-end performance to mass-market UWB applications.
By confining the electromagnetic fields to dedicated (miniaturized) air-filled regions and judicious engineering of the radiating structures, undesired coupling with surrounding structures can be minimized. This unique feature leads to guaranteed installed performance, even in challenging deployment scenarios, and yields enhanced electromagnetic isolation in multi-channel multi-antenna systems, enabling scaling to a wide variety of antenna array configurations.

By combining excellent performance with standard manufacturing and assembling technologies, such as printed circuit board (PCB) technology, 3D printing, sheet metal processing, Air-Filled-based antenna systems can be tailored to address the needs of next-gen UWB applications.

With our patented Air-Filled-based antenna systems, the antenna gain, efficiency, polarization, field-of-view, bandwidth and time domain performance are improved while minimizing size for easy integration and array scaling. In-depth benchmarking has shown that Air-Filled-based antennas perform significantly better than conventional ceramic-, Printed Circuit Board (PCB)-, and polymer-based antenna designs. This results in a paradigm shift where Air-Filled-based designs not only improves but also paves the way for new opportunities in a wide range of applications and markets.
